Just joined group tonite. From what I see, a lot of very good info is being shared between members. This seems what I had been looking for.
The constant solicitations for a membership upgrade seem to be a pain-and a requirement, if I want to read the whole of a longer post.
Anyway...
I am looking for my first compact tractor. Situation demands I need a front end loader, mostly.
Very fond of Kubota (spending much time on a late 70's B6100), but I like the JD as well.
Very comfortable with earthmoving equipment as I spent a good deal of my early working career on Cat 950's, 988's, D8's, D9's, AC21's, Fiat Allis loaders and so on.
Back to the question.
My local dealer has-
B7100 1500 hr 4x4 with fel...$5500-might be sold, though.
B7100 4x4 700 hr with blade...$3900
B7200HST (lower hours)with blade and MM60" mower...$6000
JD750 with snowblower...$8250
My needs are basically landscaping, grading, pushing some snow, and so on. I have a 1988 JD 185 for mowing, and it works well. Good piece of equipment. If the Kubota mower would work better, I would sell the JD 185 in a heartbeat.
I am going to do battle with the local dealer on Friday.
He has stated that he may exchange some attachments for others.
What I need to know...
What is a fel worth, new or used? Where can I find a used or aftermarket fel?
What is the snowblower on the JD worth?
What is a front blade on a Kubota worth?
What are these tractors worth? With or without attachments?
Any and all help appreciated.
You seem like a very knowledgeable group-I know you'll steer me right!!
Good Luck

I am sure some will be able to help you tomorrow before you go back to the dealer. You may have already scanned the Kubota, JD and NH Price forums but I find them informative. ....

I see a wide or roughly five thousand dollar spread and you still would need to spend more for a mower for the 750. The Kubota mowers have been a good buy for years. Look at the double V width for strength as well as life. The front blowers are easily worth double the money of a front blade if it being hydraulic angle should be worth about 800. Loaders used for compacts have a rough value of 1000 plus. Price of new front blowers if available is roughly 3000 plus. The blade around 1500 and belly mower about 2000 to 2500. I would think that smaller would be better, but with your hilly terrain a low center of gravity would have advantages. ....
